David and I completed the last leg of our 5 Year Anniversary trip and safely arrived back home here in LA last night. We were able to enjoy a nice brunch with David’s sister Eden before we jetted off and then … we were home again.
Altho we had a FANTASTIC time in Berlin, I think we were a bit relieved to be home again … if only for the fact that we could unpack after being 3 weeks away. The weather is warm, the sun in shining, it’s great to back in LA. Yesterday was a very fun, very full day. Yesterday afternoon, after Sarah, David and I ran around taking care of a few errands, we met up with Mark and made our way to downtown Royal Oak, MI for lunch at my fave sushi restaurant in the world — Little Tree. After we supped until we were stuffed, we hung out for a bit on Main St. and did a big of shopping at Incognito. Yesterday evening, we got to hang out with Tracey and my goddaughter Zakiya who is growing into a brilliant young lady. Last night, Sarah hosted a small get together of friends … ’twas a very, very fun day.
These are just some of the photos that I took with Princess Zakiya. It’s insane to me how much she grows every time I see her. The girl can already read and write better than David! That’s my girl. After Z had to run off to a sleep over, the real party got underway. Reggie, Tara, Agnes, Mike G., Sherri and her son Kyle came over to hang out … which meant we hovered around the dinner table eating, talking and sharing embarrassing stories. The party may not have been one of our usual ragers but it was a lot of fun. It’s always so nice to come home to Detroit and reconnect with my loved ones here. I seriously know the best people in the world … and I love them all :)

I mean, as much as I love what I do and the hustle when I get home and I get home and I see those two little faces looking up at me that look like my face, it's like, it's unbelievable. It kind of gives you a whole new inspiration and whole new reason to kind of get out there and do it everyday.

Yesterday afternoon, David and I made our way to the ArcLight Theater in Hollywood, CA to catch an early showing of The Hangover Part II. Because I had an important concert to attend last night, I wanted to see the film before the weekend took hold and I missed seeing it altogether. Going into seeing this movie, I honestly wasn’t expecting very much. Everything I heard was that Part II was pretty much exactly like the original film … but set in Bangkok. I have to say, there really wasn’t anything new in the sequel that made it any better … but if you enjoyed The Hangover, chances are you will also enjoy The Hangover Part II.
I have to say … the movie was only incidentally funny. Someone gets hurt — laugh. Someone get’s a face tattoo — laugh. The monkey does something funny — laugh. But all the written jokes fell totally flat. The entire theater we were in was mostly silent for most of the film. I, personally, didn’t find many of the jokes funny but I didn’t hate the film. You deffo know what you’re in for before you even step foot in the theater … on that account, the movie does not disappoint. I guess I was expecting some change in the formula in this sequel to make it more interesting … but it was pretty much the same exact movie all over again … right down to the photo montage at the end with the credits. Was I entertained? Yes, mildly. Did I hate the film? Not really. Is it a great movie? I can’t say that it is … but, again, I think most people will know if they will like the film before they even seen the film. If you think you will enjoy The Hangover Part II, then you prolly will. If you think you won’t, you won’t.

Although Two and a Half Men is apparently eligible for the nomination of Best Comedy Series at this year's Emmy Awards, sources close to the production have revealed that given the circumstances surrounding Charlie Sheen and his firing from the sitcom, Warner Brothers TV smartly decided to NOT submit it for the accolade!
However, the studio will be creating ad campaigns for series co-stars Jon Cryer, Holland Taylor, Angus T. Jones and Conchata Ferrell in support of their individual nominations, which are normally submitted by their representatives!
As for Sheen, he missed the April 29th deadline!

I want to take some time today to send out some major BIRTHDAY LURVE to Trent Reznor today as he celebrates another year of life. The past year has been a pretty significant one for Mr. Reznor … as he moved into his first full year of marriage with his beautiful wife Mariqueen, he welcomed the birth of a son last October and then went on a winning streak all movie awards season long, culminating in his first Academy Award at the Oscars this past February. Today, Trent turns another year older and that is absolutely cause for much celebration!
One can only hope that Trent‘s 46th year will be as happy and successful as last year but as long as he is healthy and in the company of his growing family, things can only get better. I know there are many more successes to come in Trent‘s life and today let’s just send all our birthday love and best wishes to him for many, many Happy Birthdays to come. Woot!!
